Daily Devotion
I recently completed a devotional plan for 2 Timothy called “Fight.” It brought up the old phrase, “Some things are worth fighting for.” Fight seems like a harsh or violent word, but in this case, it comes from a place of passion. Paul was so passionate about the Word and the soul changing effects it carried, that he wanted to make sure Timothy not only shared the Word but that he shared it with others who in turn would share it with more people.
We aren’t simply supposed to quote scripture to a friend or co-worker in passing. We’re supposed to share the Word, the hope of Jesus Christ, in a way that makes others want to learn more, so that one day they can take the gospel to even more people. As believers, we should work to disciple those around us so that the church continues to grow.
