Embracing Movement Over Monuments

Daily Scripture

“After he had said this, he went on to tell them, “Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep; but I am going there to wake him up.”

 John 11:11

devotion

In our journey of faith, it's easy to get caught up in the idea of creating monuments—moments or achievements that we hold onto as the pinnacle of our spiritual experience. However, God is not about monuments. He is about movement. He uses what is already there to inspire us to move forward, to pursue Him, and to grow in our faith. Just as Jesus moved towards Lazarus, we are called to move towards God, trusting Him in every step we take. What are the 'monuments' in your life that you need to let go of in order to move forward in your faith journey?

“God is always inspiring us to make movement, to move forward into the future, to pursue him, because in the pursuing, we truly need him.” - Pastor Luke

Prayer: Lord, help me to let go of the past and the monuments I have built. Inspire me to move forward, to pursue You with all my heart, and to trust in Your guidance. Amen.
