Ephesians 2:1-6

Daily Scripture

“And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”

daily Devotion

Before knowing the Lord, we were spiritually dead and enslaved by our sins. Without the Lord, our actions are disobedient, taking us away from the Lord’s eternal greatness. Living for the world will trap us in pattern where we will be living a life that opposes God’s will. Everyone is subject to this cycle, but everyone also has the opportunity to accept God as their Savior and live for Him. God’s grace has no bounds and can save us no matter what way we may be living. God’s grace sent his son to die on the cross to pay our debts. We are undeserving of all this, but the Lord’s goodness allows us to live in righteousness. I think it’s very important that we never forget the darkness we were pulled from and never take for granted how good our God is.
