God is Not Distant

Daily Scripture

“He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God. The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

John 1:10-14

devotion

Communion is a powerful reminder that God is not distant from us. Through the bread and the cup, we remember that Jesus came close to us, taking on human form to bridge the gap between God and humanity. This act of love shows us that God desires a personal relationship with each of us. As we partake in Communion, we are reminded that God is always near, ready to walk with us through every season of life.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for coming close to us through Jesus. Help me to remember that You are always near, and guide me to live in a way that reflects Your love and presence in my life. Amen.
