God Knows Our Name

Daily Scripture

“The king of Egypt said to the Hebrew midwives...‘When you help the Hebrew women give birth... if it’s a son, kill him, but if it’s a daughter, she may live.’”

Exodus 1:15-16

devotion

Despite the oppressive circumstances, the Hebrew midwives chose to fear God and save the babies instead of obeying Pharaoh's evil command. In the midst of difficulty, God saw them and their courage, even though they were nameless in the eyes of Pharaoh. These women are remembered for their faithfulness because they lived righteously despite the consequences. God knows our name, and our actions, no matter how small they may seem, are noticed and valued by Him.

When facing injustice or opposition, how can you choose to live in righteousness and stand firm in God’s calling?
