Daily Scripture
“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”
Hebrews 10:24-25
Daily Devotion
What are you doing with your life? Verse 24 tells us what we as Christians should aim to do every day of our lives. Not only should we strive to do good and love one another, but we should be trying to help others do the same. Our actions should be pointing other people to Jesus.
When we “consider” someone, it means to look to one another and focus on each other. It’s an important reminder that it’s not all about us. We should be helping each other live and love like Jesus. It’s essential to consider what we can do to point others to love and good works.
All throughout the Bible we see the importance of community. When we meet together and encourage one another, it greatly helps us in our Christian walk. This makes me think of the Belmont Young Adult group. I’ve been a part of this life group for about 5 years now and it has made such a difference in my life. While most Tuesday nights we meet at Belmont, some weeks we meet off campus to go out to eat, swim, and go on weekend trips. The Young Adults value the importance of meeting together - even if it’s not in the church walls. When believers meet to do life together, amazing things happen! The Young Adults encourage me each week and help me live and love like Jesus!
