Daily Scripture
“When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to get well?”'
John 5:6
devotion
In John 5, Jesus encounters a man who had been disabled for 38 years. Instead of immediately healing him, Jesus asks, 'Do you want to get well?' The Greek word used here is 'hugias,' which means to be made whole. This question challenges us to seek more than just physical healing. Often, we focus on fixing our immediate problems, but Jesus invites us to experience true wholeness, which includes spiritual and emotional healing. Reflect on areas in your life where you seek healing and consider how Jesus can bring you wholeness. What areas of your life are you seeking healing, and how can you invite Jesus to bring you wholeness in those areas?
Prayer:
Lord, help me to seek more than just physical healing. Open my heart to the wholeness that only You can provide. Guide me to rely on You in every area of my life. Amen.
