Judas wanted to control the outcome. Maybe he thought he could force Jesus into action, or maybe he was disillusioned. Regardless, he traded relationship for manipulation. When we try to use Jesus to serve our agenda—success, reputation, influence—we stop following Him and start managing Him. But Jesus doesn’t need managing. He calls us to surrender.
