Daily Scripture
“For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.”
Titus 2:11-13
daily Devotion
Grace, the undeserved favor of God, brings salvation to us. We haven’t done anything to earn it, but still He has given it to us. And as shown in Titus 2:11, all of us can find salvation in Christ.
The Grace of God also brings changes in our lives. He teaches us to turn away from any behaviors that don’t bring glory to Him. Titus 2:12–13 tells us to reject ungodly living and to avoid sinful actions, and as we’re striving for this, we’re also eagerly waiting for our blessed hope, the return of Jesus Christ.
To me, these verses put in perspective how simple God has made it for us to be saved by Him. As humans, we tend to overcomplicate things and salvation is no exception. I’ve been there plenty of times, inadvertently complicating something that was meant to be straightforward. But I’m thankful to know salvation is available to all of us, and He gives it freely. With salvation comes evident life changes through the sanctification process, teaching us to focus on Him and His purpose for us instead of the ways of the world. And when Christ returns, those who are His will truly be blessed.
