Daily Scripture
"Rejoice, heavens, for the Lord has acted; shout, depths of the earth. Break out into singing, mountains, forest, and every tree in it."
Isaiah 44:21-23
devotion
In Isaiah, we see a picture of the earth and heavens rejoicing in God's redemptive act. Worship here isn’t about appeasing God or trying to manipulate His favor. It’s a response to what He has already done—His mercy, His forgiveness, His salvation. True worship is not about offering something to gain something in return. It’s an overflow of gratitude for God's action on our behalf. When we understand worship as a response, it frees us from striving and leads us into true peace and joy.
How can you shift your perspective on worship from what you give God to what He has already given you?
"Worship is not about you doing anything because God is controlling you or you are trying to control God. Worship is a response and expression of something God has already done." - Pastor Luke
