The Israelites' cry for help reached God's ears, and He responded, remembering the covenant He had made with their ancestors. God was not inactive during their years of suffering. Similarly, in our own lives, we may feel like we are waiting endlessly for God’s deliverance or purpose, but God is always working behind the scenes, preparing us for His perfect timing. Our experiences, both joyous and painful, serve to shape our identity and prepare us for the work He has for us.
